About our Dancers

Govardhana devi dasi trained in Bharat Natyam under Guru Srimati Thankamani Kutty of the Kalamandalam School in Calcutta. She has taught the art in Britain since 1981 and now lives in Hertfordshire. She is renowned for highly emotive performances, captivating even the hearts of those unfamiliar with this, the best loved of all forms of Indian classical dance.

Indulekha devi dasi is currently training in Bharat Natyam under Guru Prakash Yadagudde of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in West Kensington. For the last three years she has also studied the art of classical singing (in the South Indian Karnatic style).
